Potha Sharif is a village and union council of Murree Tehsil in the Rawalpindi District of Punjab, Pakistan[1]. It is located in the north-east of the tehsil at 33°57'0N 73°30'0E [2] and is bounded to the north by Phagwari, to the south by Sehr Bagla, to the west by Rawat and to the east by Kashmir This village is famous and well known due to the mazzar of saint Hazarat Datta Malik Suraj fore father of potha shareef people he had seven sons and their generation is currently present in potha shareef . There is a great mazzar and people come from different areas of the country. There are many school working nowadays but we are thankful to Mr. Hanif Abbasi, who gave a plate form in the shape of school, (Malik suraj public school potha sharif Murree), Later on it become stand in the shape of college. No doubt hanif abbasi is the name of greatness and we all are very thankful to him & cannot forget his virtue.
